Terminology
What is the relationship between DID Domain and DID Names?
A DID Domain name is a type of DID Name Service.
Standardize the terms "top-level domain," "second-level domain," and "subdomain" used throughout this document
Because of differing interpretations of top-level domains, second-level domains, and subdomains, this document provides a unified explanation:
- Top-level domain (TLD), such as .com and .top.
- Second-level domain (SLD), such as example.com or example.top
- Subdomain, a subdomain of a second-level domain, for example, shop.example.com and shop.example.top.
This description applies only to this document and other documentation on the Blocklet platform..
"Name Server" and "Domain Name Server"
The terms "name server" and "domain name server" may have different translations depending on the registrar, but they are used interchangeably in this document.
